We’re out in the middle of nowhere with a slow connection. Not sure this is going to post. Can someone ID this pistol? Internet is too slow to do any research. Posting from the field. Hope the pics turn out.

Hexagonal or round barrel?

Definitely looks like a "Pinfire" Revolver.
Possibly a Lefaucheux.

Mid 19th century (1850's)

Very nice find!

I agree with Chiltepin. Definitely pin fire. Probably French or Belgium made

Yes this one has a hexagon barrel.

That is an Extremely rare find (for being in the middle of no where) it would be a Belgian Lefaucheux.

You would need to find out the chamber diameter for the ammo size it will be for
example- 9mm 12mm to get a full Identification and barrel length.

1870's if it has a round pin front site -non adjustable.

9mm pinfire

This was found in a farm field where a suspected home site had been. The nearest town is Ballinger, TX

It does have a round front sight. The barrel is 4 and 3/4”. We made it back to the farm where we’re staying. They happen to have a micrometer. Not real good with a mic plus the rust but I think this is 7mm

Most likely a 9mm the 7mm were purse guns with a folding trigger and no trigger gaurd

We googled up some instructions on to how to use and read the micrometer that we had at our disposal. After doing some math and conversions it appears this pistol is, in fact, 9mm. Thanks for all of the help with ID!
