I almost wish it was still like that. Sister spent 35 years in L.A., I spent a great deal of time in your traffic, but I loved the entire area...
 

Just imagine the number of Pismo Clams under the sand when that picture was taken. We'd go clamming there in the '40's, whenever there was a good tide. Sadly, I hear there are none left now.

Contrary to popular belief, there are plenty of clams at Pismo. In fact, I was there a couple of weeks ago and fairly easily got the limit of 10 per day. I remember going clamming there 30 years ago and in the morning the beach was full of people with their clam forks finding pretty good sized clams. These days there aren't as many people out there and the clams seem to be a bit smaller, but thankfully, they are certainly still there.
