Originally posted in a different category, I think this is more suitable here. I was told that this is a bone fragment however I don't see marrow and does not stick to wet skin as a bone would implying that it is not porus. It looks solid and to me it looks like a fragment of a tobacco pipe. It was recovered from an area that has been used for hundreds of years, up until the 1800s. What do you think? From Illinois.
