pioneer 505 problems

Hi all noob here, got a bh505 at a yard sale 20.00 went out to a park droped a couple of coines and they showed up so i started swinging well nothing was happening for a while droped a quarter to see if it was picking it up and nothing . New batterys tried in all meatal mode and heard a little buzzing nothing much but when i put my hand on the unit it started buzzing like crazy like it was picking up my hand no rings on my hand confused its like it just does not work can it be a bad coil tried everything just dose not pick anything up anyway to test coil or is the board bad thanks....

Sounds like a possible loose connection from the coil connection or the circuit board itself. Hopefully, it wasn't dropped in water and ruined the circuitry.
