Hi all. Happy Holidays.
I believe the Garrett Pro Pinpointer is the best ever produced. Please let me list a few others;
Minelab Pro-Find 25, $169
Nokta RS, $129.95
Whites Bullseye 2, $119.95
DetectorPro Pistol Probe, $169.99
Fisher F-Point, $58.65
Bounty Hunter Pinpointer, $59.95
Harbor Frieght Pinpointer, $16.99
In listing these, as there are many others, I refer to general land use. This said, I think it's time for a "fully waterproof" land Pinpointer. Sure you can use RV sealant on all listed, but it will void all warranties.
When Garrett introduced the AT-Pro, Minelab answered w the 3030. Yes, the price difference is large. But then Minelab shows us the "25".
My question is this; why can't a huge detector co. Step up and mass produce a waterproof land Pinpointer!? Rain doesn't stop me...
Peace

Don't know if this helps, but yesterday I was looking at videos shot in the water, and they were using the Garrett Pro Pointer. Showed it being used under water and at times you could hear it beeping when it neared a target.

Thanks Wham. Yes the Garrett can be submersed quickly w/o damage, even washed under running water. Beau O., NuggetNoggin and others, me included, use general silicone caulking. This voids warranty. I/we need a general purpose Pinpointer that is fully waterproof with out modification. Peace

I'm on my second pro=pointer in two years. I know I'm rough on them, but mud does a number on the speaker if it isn't covered with a fine-screen filter. (WINTER HUNTING IS WET AND MUDDY)
i'm sending the first one in for repair or replacement because of this and falsing. I'd pay a little more for a true waterproof pinpointer.

I'd be put'n mine in a zip lock bag. Will be getting a new one soon. Had my whites since,1994.

I like to hunt after a good rain. It just makes since to have a pointer that's waster proof. I just use electrical tape wrapped around the speaker on my Garrett with very small holes punched in the speaker side. It keeps the water out very well. That's the cheap way. I'd probably buy a fully waterproof one though. Good luck

Thanks ModernMiner. I specifically didn't list the Vibra-Probe. It's generally used for diving, has no speaker and only has "tip" detection. Garrett would corner the market if they will simply "waterproof" their existing ProPointer.
