Many years ago I purchased this stud finder in hopes of turning it into a pinpointer. I don't have the plans to do it, but I bet I could find it if I look it up. You basically take this thing apart, and extend the ferric rod wires and cement the rod at to bottom of a 1/2" PVC tube with a cap at the end. The tube is then cemented/screed into the box. These kind are hard to find and I bought two of them. I am not sure where the other one is.
Anyway, if you are interested you probably know how to do this already. It would be an interesting project and I would like someone to finish it and post it in the "Tools" forum.
