NW Indiana, there's silver in dem grounds!!!
Detector(s) used
Minelab (Xterra50) and Garrett (Ace 250)<-Gone to dad in Montana
In another post Shermanville and I were discussing the in-line pinpointer that we saw on the lost-treasure webpage. This is an update to that as I did not want to continue in the same post about a different subject so here goes.

Just got back from the findmall website. There is a sun ray forum addressing this issue. The in-line that we saw in the Ace 250 is still being field tested (Sun Ray YF-1Pinpoint Probe) and it's announcement is due any day now, as of 12/5/05.

Probably going to be outta my price range anyway but was still interested in knowing about it. Will have to go with a handheld for now. Any recommendations on a handheld that is good but still inexpensive?

I think the one that I have heard about is called a tinytec and of course White's Bullseye II.

Talk to ya guys later
Signing off for now in FROZEN NW INDIANA!

I don't know what kind of probe to recommend for the Ace 250 unless the sunray one is cheap enough. I have an ace250 and it can be a pain to pinpoint an item once you have started digging. You have to constantly pick up the detector and it's just annoying.

I use the sunray probe on my minelab explorer xs and it is definately worth its weight in gold.

I also don't see the point in a sunray probe for the ace250 because you have to constantly keep the probe moving in order to get a signal and sometimes it can be hard to move it enough when you are in a deep hole. Just my 2 cents on it.

Hopefully someone else can help you find the best probe for the money.

In the spring we should meet up somewhere to go hunting since I am in Indiana as well. Maybe trade some hot spots ;)

I have an ace 250 and know what you mean about having to try and pin point once your hole is dug (FRUSTRATING) I picked up a Whites Bullseye II from a member here on the boards. It was well worth it. It cut down my sifting looking, sifting looking diggin a little wider time down considerably. The other thing I really like is as soon as I get a signal I take my pin pointer and go over the targeted area. It has saved me digging a hole a lot when the coin or tab is just under the surface.

Thanks for the insight,

I have now been looking into the vibra-probe. Hope to pick one up used for like $75. We'll see. The inline probe available for the 250 is on "special" for 170. That is almost as much as I paid for my machine,......not going to do that! But I think it is a good idea on the probe, and you will save the condition of the area your searching, and hopefully get invited back!!!!

ive been using an automax v2 pinpointer and other than being big, it works well.the cool thing is, that it can clip to the armcuff of the ace while hunting so the size really isnt as much of an issue as you might think.
