Hello All,
Today I hit my father in laws yard. Old part of town. Thought I might find some silver, but ended up with some relics instead. Lovin it!!!
Dug up a (kids?) stirrup. Looks to be iron. The pin back has a compartment in the back. The lead man could be a soldier, looks like it could be a WWI. Would love to know the ages of these items.
Thanks for looking,
Bunker

Bunker, what is the size of the stirrup? It's definitely an old one, but I'm thinking it is probably for an adult because people's feet were much smaller 100 yrs. ago than than they are not. Is the pin made of tin or what? He reminds me of the Picaninny Freeze child. Also, welcome to the Merry Widow's Club! :laughing7:
Really cool finds, Breezie

Found this image which had the partial caption under it. The site associated with the image is cleopatrasboudoir.com. Got something to do with perfumes.

Thanks Breezie, I really enjoy finding a bit of history. Posted another pix of the stirrup with a ruler. (Wouldn't it be something if it were Spanish) The pin is surprisingly heavy, not sure the metal but definitely not tin or aluminum.

Thank you as well MSRelic, the perfume connection makes sense for the compartment in the back. I will pursue that line in my research.
Love this hobby!!

Thanks Trader, That idea did pass through my mind, but always hoping for the "neat" option.
