Hello all,

I recently saw that sunray is offering a probe for the coinmaster/prism series of detectors. Great probes!!

Also their is a SEF 12 x 15 coil now available for coinmaster/prism series.

What I'm wondering is if anyone has any experience using the sef coils. Does it provide that much better seperation and increase in depth?

Now what I'm sure your wondering is ..?WHY?? would anyone want to spend that kind of $$ on a entry level unit. The answer: for some of us we like the pure simplicity of turn on and go...no programs, no menus and if by some chance we did get caught in a rainstorm or something to that effect it would cost very little to replace it.

So please help me if you can...pimp my coinmaster. I am pretty well sold on the sunray probe, I am just on the fence with the 10x12 or 12x15 SEF coil.

All comments and suggestions are welcome!!

Thx all and happy hunting..

I have 2 SEF 12x15 for both of my V3I'S. Yes the seperation is outstanding, but on the downside being the 12x15 has such a large footprint, it raises the skill level up a couple notches because you can be over mulitple targets at once. Take time to figure this variance out. I have had Sunray probes in the past and feel they are a little over priced for what they do. Furthermore they drain your battery pack. I have switched to the Garrett Pro Pointer which sells everywhere for around $127.00 and I get well over 20 hrs of usage with a single 9 volt battery, plus the fact it is totally awesome. Not quite sure of your reasoning on the entry level machine and wanting to put high end machine accessories on it. Almost all top end machines have a turn and go program and as you become familiar with them you can tweek them to perform even better. As far as the rain goes, I always carry a small garbage bag in my back pocket incase it rains thus saving my unit. Don't take this wrong but to put a 15x12 Sef coil and Sunray probe on a coinmaster/ prism series would be like putting Ferrari wheels on a volkswagon. Sure look nice but not much on preformance.
