Is this one of those sewn on decorative armour plates or is it actually a map or piece of a map, like the pieces of eight. I know seamen of all kinds loved to put maps on coins, but what throws me off is the seller has no idea if it is Brass or Silver. I need an informed opinion... ;)

I did not want to post a pic as that would be infringment.
Thankx Brad

I will post it because its an interesting find if the story is true. He is asking $1,500 for it or make offer but he doesnt know if its silver. ::)
The coin is eaten on the edges but no corrosion on the face. The dotted lines are in the shape of the star of David and there appears to be a 20th century date. (1992) Its interesting for sure but take a look at the huge prices on his other items for sale.

Hmm, the seller can't figure out if it's bronze or solver. He can figure out that it relates to at least 2 huge silver caches. He claims to know which island it's on, but doesn't have the time to mess with it. Sounds iffy to me.

When I get my deposit back from that bridge in Brooklyn I may be interested.

This poor guy's eBay ID got jacked. Looks like he only sold detectors up to this point, then all of a sudden he's selling "priceless relics" with descriptions that don't match anything he's written before.

In previous listings he called himself Chris, now all of the sudden it's Kristoff. He always included shipping instructions on previous auctions, but now those are gone.

Iffy, iffy! :o

Not necessarily.

His store is called Kristoff Pearls. (he may be signing different depending on whether it's an auction or store item)

I saw that, but I was looking at his previous auction that had his name as Chris.

Also, there's a flag on his store items that report him as being away until November 14th, so there may be a delay in shipping. Also means he's not around to answer questions. Just very curious...

Since we have a pic of the map, we dont need to buy it.

The sercret code to read it is $495! :D

I'm surprised he doesn't have that piece of trash listed in 10s. If there's one person foolish enough to spend money on that there would likely be more.

I am sorry to say, the original piece may have been found, but magnified it looks as if it has had a dremel taken to it, maybe to enhance the markings, but none the less, the piece has been messed with.
Thats just my opinion...
