Ok, while detecting in Daytona my detector hit a signal, so I dug and out came a piece of what looks to be a piece of road. I ran the coil over same spot just to make sure nothing else in the hole and no signal. I ran it again over what I dug out and got signal again. To the naked eye, looks like nothing is on it to make such a signal, just the typical tar, little pieces of shells/rocks etc. It's flat and could easily hold a coin, but I have no idea as to how to break it up without damaging what ( I hope could be a great find ;D) is inside. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. <<<ready, set, gooooo 8)

What I would do is find someone with a Torch
Or Burn Barrel & try and Burn my way to it.

Thank You. Like a welders torch ???

Yea That should Work.

Once you see part of it, You may want to stop and try & Pry it out with
a Knife or Screwdriver, but Be carefull.
Molten tar can be dangerous.

& Don't breath the Fumes.

Thank You a whole lot. I will try to find one and follow the advice you have given. Once I do, I will post again and hopefully have a wonderful story to tell ;D now, the hunt begins for a torch!!!

Good Luck on all Counts !

Jeff

Thank You :)

If you do get a coin out of the tar and it still has tar on it - soaking it in gas should remove the rest of the tar. PS - Do that outside LOL

;D ;D ;D lol...I'll keep that in mind
