Someone was probably welding in that area.

If they were welding and it probably be magnetic then.

Take a file or something to get down to the base metal (colour) Light weight=aluminum, heavy=zinc or lead, you get the picture.:icon_thumright:

If it is light and gives you a whopping signal...it is a campfire beercan. Cans tossed into the fire, melt and wait years for us to find them. If it is heavy, it may be what is called, "camp lead" and is spilled lead from pouring bullets in camp, long ago. It is a cool find if it is camp lead. I hope this helps. George.
