I found this today at Michie,TN. It's a piece of lead kind of in the shape of an L. Anyone know what it is or what it is used for?

I think I agree with plumbing. The civil war era ones I have dug or seen have been somewhat flat like this
one here. Oxidation can occur for reason other than age, such as soil mineral content, moisture content, etc.
