I need help identifying this low tide beach find. There is a "seafaring" wreck offshore less than a mile I believe. It appears to be lead(no rust), hollow, and about 3 3/8" diameter. There is some type of raised seam along the circumference (seam is missing on alot of the piece). At first I was thinking possibly the top/cap piece from a flagpole or chainlink fence post, but I am still wondering. The surface has some pitting and also some raised areas like it was not perfectly cast/made. It also appears to have some raised seam/lip material where the kind of half-moon gouge is missing in the pics, like where a fuse would have been?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

If it cuts easily with a knife it might be lead. I doesnt look like lead that has been underwater for years. If lead it should feel heavy. And light grey, if under saltwater for any time. The halfmoon area seems to be an area where something else was cast on, and broke. Maybe a part of a chainlink post topper.

Thanks stevemc, then its not lead because I can barely get it to bend/flex if I squeeze it -- I guess just some pot metal then? I forgot to mention it weighs 4 ounces. It was found at dead-lowtide in ankle deep water. Probably nothing but I figured I better fish around for other opinions.
