Thanks guys for the last metal guesses I appreciate it, here's a big piece of metal I dug out with more foot long curved plate pieces. Could this be from a old salt works? theres no makers mark or anything.
 

We just always called them pieces of cook pot. We usually find artifacts when we find those, but what bothers me is how did they keep get broken up like that. I'm not sure you could do that with a good size hammer.

It's part of a darby pot. First pots made with sand castings. Late 1700's to late 1800's. can't date it unless you see the very bottom.
