Great looking finds capsmith. Great looking Dove in the second frame and the one to it's left looks like a Quad or Beaver Lake.

Welcome aboard!!

You got it right, Quad and a Dove tail

That is what I would have said...................Nice finds Cap......that first frame to the top right is that a Dove or a Lost Lake cannot tell base is chopped. It looks like a dove................Very nice!!!....................GTP(Chris)

I maybe didn't look close enough but I first saw the post I was thinking the top right point was a Motley!!! Thoughts?

Nice frame of artifacts...

Here is a better picture of the point ( first picture picture top right) . I have never been sure of the type.

Thank you for the solo picture. I going to stick with my gut here and say I think that's a Motley. I guess it could also be a Kay blade, but Motley is a much more common type in your area. If it is a Motley it's a very well made example and in fantastic condition. Regardless of the type, it's a great point. Nice find.

Hey Twitch I thought Motleys were side notched? That piece looks like a dovetail but could be a lost lake. I'm leaning towards Dovetail. I can see clear Beveling in this picture. I am pretty sure it is not a motley with the corner notching and beveling...............GTP(Chris)

i don't know enough to say its not a motley but i don't think its a dovetail either lost lake seems like a possibility. If there were other points found in conjunction with this pc it would give a better overview for typing. CAP were there any of the other points in the frames found with the motley dovetail lost lake impersonator ?

GTP - Motley's are corner notched points. Usually the have fairly broad notches making them almost look stemmed. In my experience most of them are not especially well made which doesn't fit well with the point in the picture, which appears to be a very well made point. I don't know what it is, other than a nice point.

Looks like a Lost Lake without a beveled edge. Are you in North Tennessee? All very nice artifacts. Is that a Bradley spike 1st frame bottom left? Might be a bone awl hard to tell on my monitor.
Welcome to t-net I hope you post many more Tn relics.

Yep middle North,Jackson Co. That is a bone awl. Tks for the comment.

It's not a Dove, the notching and the tangs are wrong for a Dove.

I also don't think it's a Lost Lake for the same reasons. Lost Lakes are Punch Notched and that Point clearly isn't. I thought Motley too when I first saw it in the frame.

Not really sure on the type, but it is a very nice Point.

Maybe Matt (Neanderthal) will see it and give us his opinion.
