Don't know the artist, but it apparently was done in 1958. I see a 1958 Chevy and a 1958 Oldsmobile that are the newest cars in the picture. Monty

The name of the town is on the grain (?) tower in the background - something...ville.

Mike

Edit: Just noticed Fryy, you're from Naperville, IL but the word doesn't appear to be Naperville :icon_scratch:

yes.."water tower"...looks like ".....keville" through magnifying lens...lots of small towns have them with name of town....could this be a postcard?

The artist's style seems to be very much like the ones I have seen of a late night cafe where Elvis is flipping burgers and Marilyn Monroe and Bogart are sitting at the counter. Just a guess? Monty

Picture is worth a thousand words (WHY DO YOU LOCK THEM)

Some of us want to congratulate the poster who solves these threads...gonna start calling you Quick Draw Jeff of Pa..... :tongue3:

I spent alot of time on this I enjoy art myself...as I am an artist myself....of sorts!

Congratulations of the finder and an awesome one to see ...love the paintings!

They don't usually lock them, I am guessing it was inadvertently done when he put the solved check on, maybe?

Re: Picture is worth a thousand words (WHY DO YOU LOCK THEM)

That a good question. The solved check is usually put on by the original poster by going back to the first thread and click on modify. I have been trying without success to get everyone to use the green checks so we can see what is solved and what isnt. I wish Jeff would do it but the last couple times Jeff put on the solved check the posters complained that it wasnt solved, so I guess he doesnt do it anymore. It seems that I am the only person that cares about the solved check and Im about to give up on it. As far as the lock, I dont know whats up with that.

Thanks Angelo...I knew I saw a signature in the bottom right corner! No other reason a pinkish shadow would be there "from an "artists view"
