Had a good couple of days out and had a good reminder that ALL need to think about.
Don't follow the "good looking ground"... follow the GOLD.

We were working on the right side of the creek and on good gold.
As we moved towards the middle we found some AMAZING looking bedrock.
HUGE cracks, broken shelves filled with red and gray clay, bunch of HARD HARD pack.
Looked BEAUTIFUL....
However.... the gold was 6 times better on the "boring" right side.
Of course, we pulled back over to the "pay line" and again found good gold.

Happens to all of us and reminds us of the importance actual testing of grounds.
Stop and test from time to time... and TRUST YOUR PAN.... not your head.

Running some tests on all RiverHog in the sluice.

I have NO IDEA what I was saying here. LOL

This was test pan from one of the bad runs, but I like the bullet.

Doc, kind of the same thing for me this weekend. The gold should of been on the inside bend so I was happily dredging away and cracking bed rock. After 4 hours I stopped and did a clean out of my 1st stage and so while I was eating lunch I took the time to run my -30's and only ended up with 1 gram. Frustrated, I went and tested the outside bend and got great color. Dredged there for 3 hours and shut down for the day. I cleaned my 1stage again and ran the cons and ended getting 5 grams.

The moral, follow the gold!

Yep........ it's kind of the same in everything we do...
Whether it's building and developing equipment, prospecting a creek, or mining a 90 acre claim.
Give it your "best educated guess" then prove yourself wrong or right.
The "learning" NEVER... and I mean NEVER ends.

Can I come play on your "bad run" ground? That's better than the best gold I've ever found.

Hahahaha, love the Teletubbies! Gotta say that things are always better in the less attractive areas, pretty good lesson for life. Looks like you have some fun this weekend and ended up finding a good amount of gold.
