PICS ADDED Civil war item???? Piece of a saddle decoration??? Pistol flask????

I found these two pieces on a battlefield where I found several Spencer cases and dropped Spencer bullets.? The pieces were pretty close together and I searched the area well but was unable to find anything else.? In the first picture you will see the items in the upper left corner along with the other items I found that day.? The two pieces don't fit together but both have a matching pattern of raised flowers.? One lady that is in to horses told me that she thinks it was some sort of saddle decoration.? I was thinking pistol flask pieces when I dug it but I am just not sure.? I am a newb to the forum but you guys are always helpful.?

Open pic file in Paint and adjust the Horizonal and Vertical from 100% to maybe 80% or so. If you open your pic file and click on pic 1 x the left column will show the pic and how many KB it is.

Could the leather peice be part of a Sword holder?
