Looking at the 1900 Census, the closest to Mathilda I found was Martha. Assuming this was her, it appears her house number was either 978 or 973 and the street says 24 1/2. Looking at the google maps, 973 24th Street is a hit, but 978 does not show up. There is also an alley between 24th and 25th streets ... maybe this was 24 1/2?
The house at 973 24th looks untouched for a long time, so if the treasure is still there then it might be able to be reached with current detectors.
I see two problems. The yard does not look very big, so it doesnt seem to be much of a challenge to locate something buried, so I would assume the treasure has been found. Secondly, the area might make most people a bit uncomfortable. I have been in the area and did not feel unsafe in the day time, but at night might be a different story.

I lived in a house that had the address of such and such 1/2. It was on the back side on the alley of the same building.
