Picked up some gold today...

Got a 1.8 gram 14K gold chain and pendant this morning. It was mixed in with a ladies Avon and other costume jewelry. The sign said make an offer so I offered a buck and she took it. Just checked one of the on-line gold calculators and it came back at about $37.00 if I remember right.

If I could find my digital camera I'd post a pic. It's got a pretty neat little pendant. It's going the stash cause the wife don't like it.

It has been my experience that most gold is under-karat. If it is stamped 14K most likely it is 13.5K or even 13K

I think by law they can be off by 1/2K. Most Italian gold is off. I saw a thing on TV about Indian gold and it is way off.

My wife brought back two 18K chains from Japan last year and they were both right on at 18K.
