forgot to mention in my other post when I got my halves today the teller asked me if I would also like to buy the IKES they had in the vault, so I said sure how many do you have? They had 27 of them, and I took them all. None are marked "s" so I assume none are silver. I really do not know anything about them, are there any of them I should be looking for that have more value than just a buck ;D

I sold the last batch I had for $1.10 each at a coin show. I think it depends on what part of the country you're in. Some areas seem to have more Ikes than others and therefore less demand above $1.

Personally I think they are worth more than a $1 as they haven't been minted for 30 years. Also, Ikes are probably due to run up a touch in value if the Pres. dollar series becomes a good collectible as people try to backfill the dollar series. Have to wait and see about that one.

took them to a flea market today and the dealer gave me $1.10 a piece, so it was an easy 10% gain. I took the cash and walked around to see if I could find any deals, found a 2005 silver eagle one oz .999 silver for $16 bucks, no tax ........I was happy with that

That's my philosophy as to why I buy them as well.

That is a good idea, I got 50 saturday also, nothing special. Was going to bank them today but may hold on to them. At one time I had over 1100 but that was tying up a lot of $$$ and I couldn't sell them to anyone out here. I had an antique slot machine dealer make an offer but then he backed out because of the shipping cost.

Hey I sold some of mine to a dealer at a flea market also.
