I went to the river today with the girls, while they played I looked around the river and the park and where the people can park their rv's, I did'nt find anything, also it is hard to explain about the train tracks so I went and took some photos of the tracks and the depot, which side of the depot would the ticket booth have been on?

here are some photo's of the tracks they are putting in, I assume the sidewalk area along the side of the depot is where the people stood and waited for the train.

I hope this is'nt too many photos

Great photos...You could hunt there all day...directly in front of the depot building would be a good place to start...and all over the grassy area...to bad they have some of it blacktopped.
Cute kids!

Boo,

I really have no sure idea where the ticket
booth would be. Perhaps in the portion of
the building that comes out, facing the tracks.
They would be selling the tickets inside. The
window would let the agent see what was
happening on the passanger platform and see
the track.

Princeton; not Illinois is it?

Are they reconstructing the area? Looks
like those tracks are going in not being
pulled up.

have a good un..........

It is Princeton Minnesota, The depot was built in 1903 and starting in 2003 they wanted to build train tracks to commerate the buildings 100th anniversary, the building and the tracks used to be very important to the town, service men going off to war rode in it and it was used to hall potatos and bricks that were made here all over the United States, the last train came though in 1986 and the original tracks were pulled up shortly after that (that was when I was 13, I don't remember it though) they are hoping to eventualy have enough track layed down to take a short trip, weather that happens or not depends on weather or not they get enough donations, right now the building is the site of the Mille Lacs County Historical Society.

I went to the depot again today and looked around the building where there was no concrete, did'nt find anything, then I looked around the yard some more, every Tuesday for the last few summers people have gathered in the yard to watch bands so I am surprised I have'nt found any money yet, they have'nt started it for this year yet, when they do I will go there on Wensdays to look around, I did find 2 other things, I will post them as soon as I put them into the computer and upload them to photobucket.
