I'm not a die-hard gold seeker, I really enjoy seeing the beauty of nature, so this trip did not produce anything other than some fine photographs from the top of Sugarloaf Mountain and a little more knowledge about the geology of this particular area. This was the second attempt to get to the top, and this time I took the time to look over the topographical map, so I did not hit any real steep points. I lugged my camera, camera stand, a good sized thermos and my metal detector all the way up, but took my time and paced myself when it got steep. Photos are nice, but they really are not the same as actually being there!
