Has anyone had one of these? I had one today, they are the worst type of interview I have ever had. What happened to the old face to face, shake your hand, how are you doing type interviews? It makes things so much more awkward, the questions throw you off so much easier, its so much harder to hold a conversation. Granted I think I failed big time while I think I would have gotten the job face to face or at least had a much better shot.

I'm with you an that, it's impossible to get any read on the person interviewing you too.

I have walked out on interviews too :icon_thumleft:

I have been in transportation sales for over 20 years and I had one interviewer ask me to write down names of 3 importer's and 3 exporter's. During the interview, the manager asked if I had written down what they requested. My comment was " Is this an interview, or are you looking for sales leads"? I politely told him that he was holding my resume containing 20 years worth of sales efforts and that if he thought I didn't know 6 contacts I was not the right candidate for their company. I got up and left. Sorry, I need to work, but I don't report to idiots. That was an insult in my book.

I had a situation like that today. I've been in sales for 10 years, i've sold 20+ million dollars of inventory by myself and she still questioned my ability on the phone and offered me a job which pays half of what I earn now and is generally a job done by high school age kids. I told her thanks but no thanks. If im not the right fit for a job than fine but why would you insult a person? I could see if I was out of work, it would have been a nice offer but she knows I'm currently employed and make much more than what that position offers and it would be a major step down from where I am now ("to gain sales experience"). To me telephone interviews are worthless unless its for a telemarketer position. For face to face sales positions you need to meet a person face to face and see how they conduct themselves. IDK maybe its just me.
