Smittyman and I invaded the North last week. Our campaign lasted for four and half days. It was not easy, but I was able to squeeze a dozen "keeper" coins out of the ground.

1859 Fat IHC. First year of the IHC.
1862 Fat IHC.
1895 IHC.
1909 Lincoln cent: First year of the Lincoln.
1911 Barber half.
1911 Barber quarter.
1943 War Nickel. OD's fav!
1936 Merc.
1942 Merc.
1864 Two cent.
1837 LC.
No date buffalo.

Our success was due in no small part to the hospitality extended to us by the locals. I met one of the nicest guys that you could hope to meet... that was the real treasure of the trip.

Enjoy the pics, thanks for looking, and best of luck on your hunts!

Nice collection of keepers there CT. Does this mean we ought to expect further invasions by you Southerners! :)

Happy Hunting

Glad you had a fun trip. From everything I heard the Northern hospitality rivals that of Southern hospitality. You met some great people and found some fantastic treasures on the trip. Looking at the Barber half dollar and 1837 LC they are just beautiful to be dug coins. Congratulations on all the find, but especially on those two items.

Looks like you found an 1800's piggy bank! That is a super set of coins, congratulations on the hunt and new friends! Sub8-)

Glad your trip was a good one Tom. The 2 center has to be my favorite. I like the looks of them. Hopefully things work out the next time you come up and I can come down too.

Thanks man. The hospitality was really beyond my expectations. I know what "beautiful dug coins" means Beez...

I dug a Philly minted war nickel... they are all over the place up there! Sorry we missed you, however CJON spanked us in your absence!

Awesome! Congrats!

The detail on the half is fantastic the 2 center is great too! Lots of great coins

You found out our secret! We don't fire lead at you Southerners we throw coins instead!

Wow lots to like there Tom :occasion14: ! That Two-Center is a real beauty too and the Half is in really nice shape, I know the Barber Halfs are tough to find, I've only ever gotten one and mine wasn't in that nice a shape being under 60 years worth of gravel didn't help it any 8-)

Oh sure they are all over the place in Philly, but I ain't in Philly! Chris has spanked me so much in our hunts, his arm has gotten quite strong, hasn't it?

tom you rocked it out in philly, I told ya I'd trade all that minor stuff I found for that freakin slamming barber half, it was a good time hunting alongside you guys

As far as all this "spanking" talk, I dunno, sounds a bit sketchy lol!!!

Great campaign...time well spent with some awesome keepers!

Wow,you had an Awesome hunt!! Congrats!!

I can't even find half the stuff you found and I live up this way. lol Love that 2 cent and the barber half, even your LC is in better shape then most my old coppers.
Pretty cool the barber half and quarter were both 1911's, were they found close to each other?

I'd say your hunt was a total success with the variety of different finds from old copper right up to the war nickel. Not to mention the Northern hospitality...

Gotta say ..Sweet Half, Great Quarter, Lovely 2 center , 2 nice Fatty IH's Merc's & a War Nickel, OH ! LC is killer to.
Any Relics Found?
