Pewter stamp

I found my first relic with my Garrett Ace 250. It looks like a typeset from an old printing press. It is made of pewter and lead. The face is the Shell Oil Co. logo with the letters inverted. It is 2 1/2' diameter. Any information?

When I was a mere lad we lived at a house in Shreveport, Louisiana. Part of the the backyard was once a trash dump back in the 30's. I know this because of dated things I found such as a rubber date stamp. Anyway, I once dug up a printing plate such as yours. It was in reverse also and advertised Oxydol washing powder. Seems it was made of the same metal as you described. I wish I still had it. It may still be out there somewhere. Knowing how I was back then, I probably managed to tear it up, also.
