Pewter Object Found at Tavern?

I found this thick pewter object yesterday at a tavern site. I am trying to find out if it is a counterfeit silver coin. Here are the pics. I have it sized up with a Flowing Hair silver dollar.

Isn't it a little thick to be a counterfit dollar?

Well, pewter does expand in the ground...so it could be the right size. Can you see any detail at all on it?

Nope I can't see any detail on it.

It would be the largest end, as they taper out. Probably a very large serving spoon. no pictures, sorry.

Could it possibly be something pewter that had melted during a fire ?
Can see no shape to it.
