Pewter Object Found at Tavern?

I found this thick pewter object yesterday at a tavern site. I am trying to find out if it is a counterfeit silver coin. Here are the pics. I have it sized up with a Flowing Hair silver dollar.

Isn't it a little thick to be a counterfit dollar?

Plateware maybe?

Well, pewter does expand in the ground...so it could be the right size. Can you see any detail at all on it?

Would you happen to have a picture of one? I have never dug a pewter spoon handle this large before.

It would be the largest end, as they taper out. Probably a very large serving spoon. no pictures, sorry.
