shootncoin and I scoped out a foundation found on a mid to late 1800s beers map in upstate, NY. Among some other things we found was this pewter eagle button (shootncoins find).
We were wondering if anyone had an idea what time period it might be. We were thinking rev war - War 1812 but not sure. Also, we were wondering what this thing might be worth. Any help is appreciated. The other finds include an early LC no date visible terrible shape, one 1803 LC really bad shape, one indian no date visible and several other buttons in terrible shape with no markings. I think this button was probably the best find.

Gave a quick look, and not likely Rev War, but I think it might be similar to the Alberts GI 27B, the eagle looks similar, and stars surround the rim. Says Post Revolutinary War era. Hope a more positive ID coming, but he did find a nice one for sure.

I know it's not in the greatest of shape but does Albert give a value? My LCs are about 44 book (so less), plus they are dug. 5 bucks tops. No biggie. I like em. Soaked them in hot peroxide and got a little bit of detail but not much. It's still two more LCs than I had before!

...and I think you're right. Alberts GI 27B looks like it. there's a thread in tnet. here is the link. I'll mark it solved but I'm sure shoot would like to know if it's worth anything.
