Was over a friends house over the weekend and never paid attention to the rock but he said its petrified wood. It was there in 1981 when he bought the house and it's been in his flower garden ever since. His home is in central NJ along the Rancocas creek near Mt Holly. Was built originally as a vacation home by previous owner.around 1940's I think.
Anyway I only snapped one picture , it measures aprox 12"x12"x 20" and is heavy. Oh and also the property was probably filled due to low lying land.
