Good stuff Badger. I'm grew up in Michigan, haven't spent alot of time in the Northern part, though. Your little bowl is cute. The knives are great, also. Keep on diggin!!!

Yes, and I also do a series of other things to them. For instance, first the knife went through electrolysis, then it spent some time in a rock tumbler with gravel and vinegar. Then it was neutralized to stop the action of the vinegar, dried, and then sealed with EverBright clear coat.

I really enjoy looking at the vintage historic finds that you unearth. In todays society one tends to forget exactly what handmade really means. The tools, harness rings, bowls, and such did not go through automated machinery back in the days gone by and are truly pieces of art.

Can't you picture a blacksmith slaving over a hot fire using those pliers to hold a hunk of hot metal? Quite often all I find at blacksmith buildings are pieces of broken tools and small pieces of non-descript iron. Nice find.

I'm located at the Indiana line and was just wondering.

My work leads me all over Michigan Mole. And on top of this we have different residences in the state.

In fact, this evening I'm in the upper part of the lower Peninsula and my wife is on business in southern Michigan...LOL! It's really wild.

My favorite THing sites are in the Upper Peninsula.

We have an email connection at one residence and all our communications go through that connection.

Best to you and be thankful you don't have to travel so much.
