Persistence pays

So the wife and her mother took the baby shopping today, I knew they would be gone for hours. So I decided to go hunt a park close to my house that I have hunted a few time with not much luck. I knew there Had to be something good there, I see people in the field every day playing frisbee, football, flying kites etc.... Only problem is it gets cut by a huge bat wing style mower that leave tons of can slaw everywhere. So I told myself I can't leave until I find a keeper. Gold was my main target so I dug all mid tone targets and only mid tone targets. 3 hours in I finally got one, and a good one too. In the field I saw 10k so I tucked it in my pouch and headed home. I got home and washed it up, and it seemed heavier than normal for the size. I got out my loupe and to my surprise it's 18k and 8.4 grams. Woo hoo.

After over 2 years of no gold, I dug my first two gold rings within a couple months of each other - both in locations full of junk, junk, junk -- so to any newbies, don't give up on the trashy areas!
