Pennsylvania explains a lot. I discovered some of my ancestors served in a PA militia in CW while I was looking for info about a sword's owner in Lehigh County.
People sure used to have more excitement.

Sounds like the start to a good book with a tree that switches you out of the way. Great writing for the times. My Dad was from Pennsylvania Dutch country and he told us wild stories every night before bed.Many much like this one.Actually with the name Miller they might be my relatives.
