Perforators

Native Americans often utilized sharp pieces of bone to scribe, incise, puncture, perforate, and punch holes in leather, woven wares, and ceramics. Sometimes, they would use lithic pieces for such tasks. I really don't know why they would use stone with so many sharp items available, but they did use stone sometimes. Here is a pic of some stone perforators.

Here are some of my better Perferators/Engravers. The two made from exhausted Points were found the same day on the same site. I found one and my father found the other.

Reaper, those are more like scribes. They would be great for carving wood, making intricate designs, incising, or even etching. I have some of those as well. I was referring to the ones you could "punch a hole" with.
 

You are correct and my bad. I guess that's what I get for trying to post when I'm running a fever over 101 degrees. lol

Here are a couple I thought were perforators. The last one small enough I wonder if it weren't for perforating skin like tattooing. It is the smallest/finest point I've ever seen flaked.
