Hit the beach again about 1/2 mile east of the state park. Found working up close to the top of the beach is where the interesting stuff is. Today I found two 50 cal slugs, a 30 cal slug and a piece of 1/2 inch plate with a 2" hole that looks like it was shot through. The area was used during WW II by Pensacola NAS for training. Since hurricane Ivan when the beach disappeared, it was restored by pumping millions of yards of sand from offshore and with the sand came all the treasures. Most avoided by TH'rs. Now I want to find that plane that's there!

Beach hunting sounds interesting. I'll have to try it out here in Oregon.

I remember the first time I hunted at the beach. Was in Destin. First couple of finds were the bullets like you are speaking of. Next trip was to Perdido and found LOTS of Corona tops. :P :D

Congrats on your finds and good luck on your return! Nana :)
