Not a clue as to what it is, but it's a neat looking medal. Looks old too.

i heard that it had some thing to do with Indians. thank you for the info. i have know ideal why one would be made for them. funny find and what it would be doing here in owensboro , ky. i dug it in my sisters yard awhile back

it sound like silver when i do the drop test? the back is flat but i need to clean it up , i can not see anything on the back. it has holes on the top were it looked like a small chain or something would hook up to it to go around the neck??????. it looks like silver. i all so got another medal that i will post as soon as i clean out my dug finding box's. it has a clock and a shoe with wings if i recall. i will clean them both up and repost. thank you again

I'm in the process of cleaning out my box's of finds at my wife getting on to me about storing space ::) i have all kinds of stuff, toys , tokens , old spray nozzles, old Tootsie cars. i will try to post the other medal tomorrow. thanks for the reply

I tried a search on google, but I put quotes around "people of the rocks" to do a literal search for that string. It found 246 hits, so it narrows things down a bit. There are some People of the Rocks in British Columbia (Kitlope, Sekani) as was posted earlier. There are some other Indian tribes in North America that called themselves People of the Rocks too; the Northwest Territories, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and a few other places. I followed a few of the links. There are even People of the Rocks in Madagascar, Australia, and Europe. :)
