My dream is to open up that worn, paper roll of pennies and.... 1936 dot cent comes out :headbang:

That would be awesome! And is possible In my career I have found 3 mercs in penny rolls. All were cwrs and all the mercs were badly tarnished. Interesting fact I havent found the first silver rosie in a penny roll. hmm....

Just curious, where are you sending it to get it verified? PCGS? NGC?

well i just recently got a job at a local auction house that has been around for 30 or so years. The head guy of the auction house told me that he has people he works with when he sells coins so I can just get some opinions and where to go from there

Dude why would you mess around with this? If this is potentially one of the rarest Canadian coins in existence why not go to the source, its worth the road trip.

well to be honest that is the ideal situation and i would love to head up to canada! i mean i live in one of the most canadian states in america lol. but money is really really tight right now and i'll take what i can get when it comes to having people look into it.
Now when it comes to the money. I really hope theres at least 4 zeros on that first offer i get lol

Perhaps it would be worth while to take a very high density scan of the coin and email it to one of the Canadian experts. I am CERTAIN they would jump at the chance to evaluate it, they might even come to you if it looks promising.

You are a college student. Does your school have a lab that could take an ultra high rez picture of the coin?

i've recently graduated my classes this december with Cassie we're both EMT's now and if i were to be able to use that lab again i'd have to take another class. with my fire Certs. and EMT i'm spent. i guess i could find someone down at the hospital to scan a little coin for me. they'd laugh but haha oh well

a 1936 canadian coin with a dot below the 3. about 5 are known of and these have sold up to 402,000 dollars
