Well, first of all it would cost more to get that stuff together than the scrap is worth
Second, it is illegal
Third, it is just easier to hide them in rolls or pass them off at McDonald's

It's a shame but it is illegal...You might try putting them in a rock tumbler with some sand in it. Keep all the pennies separate though, might make all the other coins look like crap.
