I Believe that may be considered a cud, but not sure.
it is possable it must be on the Edge for a "cud"
& a "die Lump" elsewhere

I would call it a "Goiter Neck"

when Googling it

only found 1924S Lincoln Cent (VG/Goiter Neck) $10.00
(Raise metal between face and body over neck)

This isn't over Neck, But Close enough for My Money :laughing9:

so far no pics

Either way IMO Worth Keeping or Ebaying at $10.00 starting Bid
to see Who Bites :laughing7:

(or call it Bird Poop on Memorial :laughing7:)

hmmm......I like it but can't say I've ever seen a cud that wasn't connected to the rim at some point and in this case you seem to have 2 cuds not connected to the rim...... :dontknow:

I'm also not sold on the fact that those bumps are not added post mint......tons of strange things happen to coins while out in general circulation. Have you tried to scrape the bump off with your fingernail?.....something tells me it might come loose but hard to say.

Whatever it is, nice job spotting it! :icon_thumleft:

HH all!

Technically a cud has to be on the edge of a coin, however they are often called cuds wherever they appear. Actually it would be a die chip or break. I don't think this is either. I agree this looks like something that became attached after the coin was minted.

The first thing I did was try to scratch it off. It didn't flake, scratch or budge at all. This is why I had become curious about it. Under a 4x magnifying glass I can see it is the Exact same color and definitely part of the coin itself. Thanks for the input guys I know nothing about coins. I will hold on to it. Maybe one day I'll run into someone who will offer me a few bucks for it. Wishful thinking right! :D
