Why do you keep wheats?

Yah I mean why wouldnt u? They only cost you 1 cent, and are a piece of history!

You would be dumb not to keep wheats, I also keep all 2009 Lincoln cents and to be honest I find less of those than my wheat's..Just a heads up, i think those will be worth more than a penny someday, just saying.

Why do you keep wheats?

go back to surf'n that surf board dawg, cause round these parts, we've been keep'n wheats since we were kids. If you don't keep wheats than there is somethin wrong with you, psffttz, people now-a-days.....don't undastand da value of money.

1.ta answere your question, I keep wheats just to have them.
2.I like wheats
3.less and less each day
4.some are worth a decent amount
5.there be steel wheats
6. if you get enough wheat you can bake a loaf
7. they look better than any cent made 1959 and onward
8. it says quite clearly on the reverse "ONE CENT" front and center, BIGGER than any other words on the coin
9. because it said quite clearly, "one cent", people used to call them cents, the current cent design has one cent written very small and its not in the center, this leads to the deadly inaccurate term "Penny".
10. all of the above

Lots of 1000 sell for $40-50 on eBay. Even the 40s and 50s. Lots of all teen-30s go for a much higher premium.

That's quite a profit for a $10 investment. Why would you not keep them?

Best to you

Box I just hit (#4 in the list) was an interesting one lowest percentage of copper of all of them but nearly double the # of wheat (was spread out though not in a single roll). Been averaging way more wheat than 2009 although Id rather it be that way.

People called cents "pennies" before too, since many were Anglo-Saxons who used pennies in England or Scotland before they came to America.

Boxes 6-8 were not great but this last box was a ripper. Had two rolls with wheat enders which I hadn't had before (each roll had 10 wheats each). Hit a total of 44 and got a 1918 and a 1929. Boxes like that are very fun makes the slower ones bearable its all about the anticipation, what might be...
