I have had my AT Pro for about 2 weeks (Upgraded from an A250) and been out to play about 3 times. I've been mainly in tot lots and some fresh and salt sand. I've been keeping it in pro coin mode most of the time and I turn iron audio off an on throughout my hunt to help me learn the sounds. I've found about $4 in clad, some pull tabs, a few dozen bottlecaps, fishing lure and lead weights, a key, a keychain, and a lot of tin and iron trash and junk. So, I think I'm using the ATP correctly as I'm finding the usual items I was pulling out with the A250 in the same areas. No rings yet though.

I have noticed that every single penny I find has the iron grunt with iron audio on or an iron splattering sound with it off. Is this normal?

Canadian pennies are :

2000–2012 * 2.35 g 19.05 mm ( 3⁄4 inch), round 94% steel, 1.5% nickel, 4.5% copper plating
1997–1999 * 2.25 g 19.05 mm ( 3⁄4 inch), round 98.4% zinc, 1.6% copper plating

I think the newer USA pennies are mostly Zinc.
