Found some green banded slate while hunting, I made these about 10 years ago. Just thought i would let everybody know that i would never try to pass these off as being authenic. If anybody ever tries to make something like these you would understand how much time it took to make something like this. I used power tools, grinders, Dremel tools and etc. Let me tell you after each one my hands were aching like i had arthritis! I would say each replica has between 6 to 10 hours labor each! I put a little vaseline on each one to bring out the color better. Also i made a winged butterfly bannerstone once, which turned out awesome, but somebody stole it. I dont know what the native american indians used but i can only imagine how there hands felt! Any input is welcomed. Thanks Frank

Re: Pendant, Bannerstone, and Plummet

Howdy,

Actually those arent bad at all. Good form and well made....you even got the holes right. If I had a suggestion on improving them and this is minor, it would be that you could make them a little larger.

Honestly is best....if you want to see some blatent dishonesty, take a stroll through stone artifacts on ebay....LOL The sad thing is people are forking out mega bucks for that artifakery crap. Even poorly made crap is selling on there....makes me wonder..what are these people thinking. Anyhow, you have real talent. Its always fun to see what other folks can make.....love the flint knappers skill as well. People often tell me that modern man cannot make points like the indians.....I have to laugh and think to myself....you dont know the flintknappers I do.

Keep at it....you might find a calling that would pay $$$.
