When I was in grade school, I needed a pencil so I went into my parents cabinet and found one. One day I noticed ( in class 4th grade?) a small glass piece in the bottom of the eraser that pierced through both sides. I put it up to my eye and I was shocked? (IDk) But there was a woman in the nude in a black and white photo inside this 1/8” diameter glass. I’m guessing 1940 ish photo.
Don’t know what ever happened to it but I’m curious if any of you all ever seen this?
Thanks guys

I remember the floaty pens.

Nothing like the pens, more like a peep show!

🫤.........yeah I got one and for 5 minutes thought "COOL". 😀
Then after twisting my wrist to the point of pain it was like getting those damn Xray Specs.
Yep, .......after wearing them as a 10 yr old at the beach and smiling at everyone expecting to see skeletons at least after 20 minutes lifeguards escorted me off of the beach! Think they said "Stingrays, Great Whites or Snakes you little freak!" Something like that. I asked my mum and dad about it later and they just said..."we'll just keep that a secret....ok!"

Let me try to make it clear.
The base of the eraser had a very small glass that pierced through both sides. If you LQQK into the tiny glass (1/8” circular shape)you would see a woman posing!
It was a number 2 pencil.

Yes, peep show pens & pencils were a thing. There were peeks & valleys in their popularity, so several different decades.

Stanhope was/is a brand of mechanical pencils known for this feature.
Google: stanhope peep show pencil

Yours sounds like an aftermarket addition. I remember from an article I read years ago that you could buy the "peeps", drill out a pencil, and insert the peep.

Do you recall the brand of pencil?

That helped a lot, although I didn’t find the exact pencil, it very close.
