Hello everyone,
I recently went up to my aunts old farmhouse, which is from the turn of the century. However her land, she reported, goes back to the 16 and 1700s where settlers used to take up camp in the woods behind their house. She has 26 acres to explore so it was a lot of fun but I didn’t come up with much except for this below. I’ve looked for days to find something that I thought this might be. I thought it was Goldplated but then I thought it might be brass or brass plated. You can see on the back that there’s a part where a pin likely broke off. You guys have any idea what this could be and what the material is? I included the first picture next to a dime so you could get the idea of the size. Thanks ahead of time for any help.

Is the S-shape thing attached at both ends?

That makes me think it might be a scarf slide for a neck scarf. Similar to what Boy Scouts have, except for women’s scarves.

Interesting find. The pair of pin attachments points on the reverse at 10 and 4 in the 2nd picture does remind of a brooch. Not sure if the designs on front are just decorative or can help narrow to a time period and ID. Good luck.
