Peerless headbadge? More pics of whatsit added.

Looks to me that this was a headbadge due to the two holes in it. I looked online and the only thing I could find was Peerless Steam tractors cira 1880-1920.

Anyone have more info, or can confirm?

I found the other item at the farm, too. It has measurments on it for something. Reminds me of an overgrown hypodermic needle.

Learned Peerless also made automobiles 1900-1920's see the logos on this ad. Lots of other products have appearently used that for a brand name tho'.

But why would a tire gauge have a set screw, and the numbers really don't make sense for that function. Though I can see where you are coming from. I would like to see it from other angles, like the bottom end of the cylinder.

Peerless is related to many products, My name which really is Peerless means without equal of noble decent.

Peerless potato chips (gary Indiana)
peerless coffee and teas
peerless V8 one of the most beautiful cars ever built
peerless tires (tyres as we say here)
peerless faucets (taps as we say)
peerless plant hire

you can just about find anything and everything with the name peerless applied, simply the company producing the product is claiming it is the best (without equal)
That said as you say you are detecting on a farm the two most likely are the Peerless steam plough or Peerless 4 ton truck

I don't think that it's a tire guage.

Never seen a powder measure.

It certainly measures something.
