I am all for sensible development of our resources, but I agree that this mine is indeed a potential ecological disaster. The project is too large to adequately monitor. Particularly in perpetuity after the mineral resources are all mined out. Some places on this Earth just have to be out of bounds.

It all about the process not the individual mine it's self. If they can get a fair chance then maybe we can. Same folks with the same wording are behind closing them as are against us.

And what exactly is wrong with the inland location? 320 miles north east is Anchorage, marked with the "save the bay" red tag. It's not even close to the bay. It's just been plagued by the anti-mining agenda seekers as usual...

IMO....The ills of the past (ingnorance of potential consequences of non containment way back when) are reflected in the fears of the present by some and they prey upon the ignorant of the present and God knows there are too many.

I thought the logo on the map might result in some comment. It just happens to be the map I randomly selected to show a better picture of the watershed to contrast to Reed's map. I'm pretty sure Trout Unlimited (TU) did not draw a special map showing a fictitious river system just to support their cause. You can be skeptical of TU, but the post--it is just a map.

I agree with you, but you are dealing with Murphy's Law in a very ecologically sensitive area.
