Cool find. I found this lot that sold in June of 2006 for 45 pounds-
Shells: A carved cameo shell, depicting classical woman playing lyre (previously a lamp), framed growth of the cultured pearl, plus quantity of other assorted sea shells and coral includes large piece of coral on stand, soapstone paperweights and bookends, etc. (two boxes)

I sell a lot of vintage items on ebay and vintage Japanese items sometimes bring a lot of money. Is there anything written on the back that could indicate a date? Any address? (If there is no zip code in an address it it pre 1964) Have you taken a look on ebay for anything similar? You found a very cool item!!!

I am glad someone else found another frame of pearls.Thankyou very much.
i was wondering if anyone new were the frame came from? There is no date or address on the back of the
frame and was it a purchase from a gift shop? or a pearl farm in the U.S or Orient?
