The other day at my flea market I picked up 50+ no date buffalo nickels for 15 cents each. I also got 20 or so "V" nickels for the same price.
I them went to Radio Shack and got a bottle of ETB Etchant (cheaper nic-a-date alternative).
After an hour or so of work I came up with 3 1917-D, 2 1916-D, a 1913 raised mound and finally my favorite - a 1913-D Variety 2. In good condition it's valued at $120.
Some people think acid restoration is controversial and wrong but I feel like a nickel with a date that's been restored is better than one that has no date at all.
Thanks for reading.
