Corey (my son) and i got 2 bags of pay dirt under the tree. One of docs x-mas mix and one from goldbay.
You should have seen the look on corey's face when the large gems fell into the pan from docs mix. 3 LARGE crystals ( 1 all clear 1 beige tint and 1 purple tint ) plus all the other smaller gems that Corey has in a jar on his night stand. We also panned out a good amount of fine gold flakes. Thanks doc!
The other dirt from goldbay had a set amount of gold in it. They sell a 3 pound bag of cons with 5 grams of gold guaranteed for 232.00 with free shipping. You should have seen the look on my face when i started panning that. All chunky gold with pickers and small nuggets. No fly poop. This was our first year prospecting and we have found a bit of fine at bear river and mineral bar. But i have never seen anything like this in my pan. I tried to post a pic but am not having any luck at it. All i can say is that we are very happy with both and can not wait to get out with my new toys ( BGT prospector and gold-n-sand hand dredge ) and catch some wild gold. Goldbay is worth checking out if you want a guarenteed amount of gold.
Happy new year to all

Good on you Steve, time with you son. I doesn't get better than that and the time goes by quickly.

Yes, Dave, at Goldbay, is a straight up guy in all his dealings with gold. Quite a few years ago I bought a couple custom hunting knives for my two sons, which Dave made, with gold nuggets inlaid in the handles. The boys still have these fine, functional knives. More than one buck has been field dressed and skinned using them.

Good luck prospecting with your son this new year. I'm sure it will be golden.
