I couldn't be happier with the results!!! I bought this coin for $20 at a pawn and paid $31 to get it graded. From the nick on the reverse rim to soaking in acetone to get rid of the finger print left over from a coin dealer who popped my coin out of the plastic slip, the coin is finally taken care of for good. I had 50/50 mixed opinions on whether this would even grade, in person and online. I'd like to thank everyone for the opinions because I probably wouldn't have sent it in to get it graded! Also, my first choice was ANACS so I'm happy I went with PCGS! Original thread http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/coins/524566-1902-s-morgan-au-50-24-yea.html

You made out like a bandit! Always nice to see a pawn shop lose!

I'll say "WOW"

Beautiful coin and and great score!

here is a sample of what the pawn guy would say----

Score!!! Congrats on an excellent catch. Going with PCGS over ANACS dramatically increases the value for the same grade so nice call on using them.

Great score, congratulations! :notworthy:

That's really cool! Great-looking Morgan.
I remember buying a nice full horn '19d buffalo from a pawn shop years ago for like $20. Came back vf20 from pcgs - thought it would grade higher. Still made almost $50 on it.
Another time a pawn shop I went to had a huge bin of wheats. They let me take an hour or so and sort thru them. I pulled hundreds of teens-early 30s, lots of better dates & s-mints, including (2) 22-d, and a dozen 09 vdbs. Paid 4c/each for the lot!
